A big thanks to Allison, a local student who took the time to knit beautiful scarves for our clients.  They will be thrilled to receive such a wonderful gift and we are thankful for her generosity.

Thank you!!

A BIG THANK YOU from Chestnut Hill Meals on Wheels for the contributions we received during our 2011 Annual Appeal.  The donations made through the end of December were double the amount of contributions over last year.  Over 1700 meals will be served as a result of the fundraising.  Seen here are (from left) volunteers, Laurene Topping and Kristin Vongvixay of Chestnut Hill, Vicki Sanders of Mt. Airy, Margie Casebeer of Chestnut Hill, Susan Leonard of Blue Bell, Executive Director Lynne Mason, Kim Morris of Erdenheim, Jean Elliott and Audrey Van Riper of Lafayette Hill.  (Photo by Barbara Sherf)

Thank you to all our MLK Day of Service Helpers!!

23 Jan
We would like to say a BIG thank you to all the volunteers that helped us out on January 16th, the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service.
We had a group of 8th grade students from St. Genevieve’s, volunteers from Seventh Day Adventist Church, and a nursing student who shadowed our volunteers, sorted our donated food items, and helped in other ways around Keystone House.
At CHA, students in grades PK to 5  collected, sorted, and packed Emergency Bags. They also made cards and placemats for the clients.
The students of Enfield and Erdenheim Elementary Schools packed Emergency Bags and made cards for MLK Day and Valentine’s Day.
The Emergency Bags are so important to our clients because on days when there is too much snow or ice and we are unable to deliver, they still have items in their pantries so that they won’t be hungry.  And of course our clients LOVE the homemade cards, placemats, and notes from the children!
We are so grateful to all who participated.  Here are some photos from the day:
